A treasured photograph. It is autographed on
the rear 'Harry Truman' the President of the U.S.A. 1945

In late 1945 Gracie toured New Zealand where this photograph above was taken. The Maori mother appreciated Gracie's help in bathing her baby and baby herself seems contented!

Gracie came back to Great Britain, arriving in London in January 1946. With her friend and manager Mr Bert Aza she fed the pigeons in Trafalgar Square whilst her future plans were discussed.

1947

In post-war Berlin
to record for The Gracie Fields Show

After the war Gracie had more time to spend at her beloved orphanage at Peacehaven on the Sussex Downs.

In the schoolroom Gracie
tries to look stern but just can't.

Gracie looks as though she is going to be last. She was!!

Variety's foster-mother with some of the happiest children in the world.
