1951 - Gracie discusses the merits of the Phillips TV Receiver with Mr. N. C. Pratt, Publicity Manager. In July the first low power TV signals radiated from Holme Moss. The first main aerial tests began the following month, arranged so as to co-incide with the announcement that the station would be officially opened on the 12th October.

With it came the potential of an additional 5 million viewers, an opportunity television manufacturers were keen to cash in on. Phillips employed the northern lass herself 'Our Gracie' to promote their range of televisions for the north.

Gracie finds Television an ideal form of relaxation. Here she is with a Phillips 'Big Picture' television set.
