Gracie, marked with an X, aged nine at Rochdale Parish Church School.
The schoolmaster, Mr. Johnny White, just behind her, also taught her
mother Jenny.  Gracie left this school aged twelve to go on the stage.

A scene like young Gracie would have been in when
she was 'singing for a pork pie' in the inns of Rochdale

This is Gracie's school in Rochdale
it's a copy from Gracie's own scrap book.

A very young Gracie

On this 1915 playbill Gracie is billed (above Archie Pitt) but in type so small that it cannot be clearly read in this  reproduction.  Gracie's first Review 'Yes I Think So' was launched in 1914.

Gracie with Mum 1915

This signed photograph was obtained by the late Margarita (Rita) Louisa Edvige who was a dancer in London's West End Theatres from 1910-1915.  She was very much part of the London scene.
