'OUR GRACIE'

Gracie - the Hollywood film star
Worlds highest paid female
 entertainer in the 1930s

Gracie brews a nice "cuppa"
in her friends kitchen in Rochdale, Lancashire, England. February 1933.

The legendary Dame Gracie Fields was indeed a
 British national treasure
but I would like to introduce to the world another
British national treasure
  Miss Beryl Down.
~~~~
Beryl, who hails from the beautiful
English Riviera of Torbay, South Devon, England,
sees and lives life in a pure and idyllic poetic way.
One of her greatest inspirations for seeing life in this way was the
 lass from Lancashire, England, who the world came to know and fondly love as
'Our Gracie'
Beryl has been a life long admirer of Gracie Fields and has followed her path through life since the day of her birth on the 9th January 1898 until her untimely death at her home at Capri on 27th September 1979. Beryl's tribute to 'Our Gracie' is truly astounding as you will witness as you read through Gracie's own life story as seen through the poetic mind of a truly remarkable lady. Her tribute is entitled:
'All in Rhyme'
The life of Dame Gracie Fields
~~~~~~

Also published to this web site is Beryl Down's own lifetime of memoirs spanning almost eighty years but the fascinating thing about her memoirs is that she has written them again 'All in Rhyme' and they are entitled:

 'Lancashire Life'
'Stars In My Eyes'
'Regally Remembered'
'Memories Most Precious'
