~ The Twinkle Review ~

Oh, how I love the Twinkle shows produced by Olive Fox and Clarkson Rose. Commencing with the rosebud dancers dressed in Erin green, Barbara, Margaret, Hilda and Irene. Followed by a comedy sketch featuring Clarkie and Tommy Fields, witty and nonsensical much merriment it yields. Soprano Cynthia Rawson in a gown of lavender blue, entertained the audience with ballads old and new. The tenor Murrey Stewart sang 'The World belongs To Me' and the Irish favourite 'Mother Macree' Olive Fox gave a rendering of 'Burlington Bertie from Bow' which I considered was the highlight of the show. Clarkson Rose appeared as a pantomime dame, in that capacity he made his name. I will meet them all again next week and for many weeks after, Twinkle is a perfect blend of sentiment and laughter.
