Sadly, Monty was to die the following year.
He suffered a fatal heart attack whilst
travelling aboard the Orient Express train.

~ Love Me Love My Monty ~

When Gracie married Monty Banks in America he was forty and she was forty two, his kind attention during her serious illness helped to pull her through. Happiness reigned for ten years then Monty suffered a heart attack which ended his life, leaving a sister Maria and a sorrowing wife. Friends and relatives rallied around Gracie was never left alone, but her heart ached for someone of her own. Eventually Boris entered her life and for the third time she became a wife.

~ Brighter Days ~

I look forward to brighter days the bad times will go, when I return once more to sing in a show. I suffered a great upheaval when I took Monty's name in spite of all the heartache I love you just the same. While it takes time to forget I am quick to forgive, It's the only way I can truly live.

~ Boris ~

Boris Abraham Alperovici was a clever inventor who deserved an honours degree not a radio repairer inferred persistently. He had led a very quiet life until Gracie changed the situation as his lawful wedded wife. For twenty-seven years she was as happy as can be sharing her home on the Isle of Capri. The sun was shining on the day she died from a sudden heart attack with Boris by her side.

~ The Proposal ~

Boris said "I don't think actresses should marry" "Would you marry one?" Gracie enquired. "I would if it was you." With such tender words to bless Gracie proposed and Boris said yes.

~ Destiny ~

Gracie I had no desire to take a wife until the right lady entered my life. Here on the Isle of Capri dreams have become a reality. I am not from your own country as you well know but I am a man who love's you so.

~ Boris Pens A Letter ~

Dearest Gracie,
You mean so much to me we will live together in your villa by the sea. Happiness overflowing everything just right from dawn's early rise until the stars appear at night. Never again will you need to roam you can keep to the path that leads to home. Rosy and tranquil the future will be now you have given your heart to me.

                                                                  For ever,
                                                                    Boris.

~ Gracie's Reply ~

Dear Boris,
A little brown gate is the entrance to my villa by the sea there are poppies white and red by the path you long to tread all for your love of me. When your hair turns to silver and your step begins to slow love will never cease to leave a rosy glow. Happiness is certain for the rest of my life when I change my name to Alperovici on the day I become your wife.

                                                                 Sincerely,
                                                                    Gracie.

~ My Own ~

Pay me a little attention and give me the love that I seek, let me enjoy your company everyday of the week. The public have shown great affection all the way through, but I need someone to call my own, Boris I really need you.

~ The Engagement ~

In the month of December I greet the sun and welcome skies of blue, everything in the garden is lovely and as fresh as the morning dew. The whole world seems brighter and my step is lighter I feel twenty years younger it is true, now I am engaged to you.

~ Wedding Bells ~

I love to hear wedding bells ringing out so clear, today they are ringing for you and me my dear. The future unfolds like the petals of a flower, this is indeed my happiest hour. Hold me tight and never let me go, we are the perfect match to keep our hearts aglow.

~ Never Too Late ~

On the 18th of February 1952 at the church of San Stefano I heard the words so dear to my heart, joined together as man and wife until death us do part. Gracie you are fifty-four and I am forty-eight, but falling in love is never too late.

~ Only Natural ~

Coming out of church after the ceremony Gracie burst into tears as a hundred spectators gave rapturous cheers. Turning to her new husband she said "Don't worry my dear to cry at weddings is the fashion," when handed a bunch of red carnations she whispered "That's us eh Boris? red for passion."

~ Third Time Lucky ~

Why did Gracie marry Boris? Because she fell in love, an answer to her prayers from heaven above. She endured two years of loneliness after Monty died, and life without a partner she could not abide.

~ My Heart Awakes ~

I was a widow for two sad years when the clouds brought their tears but the sun comes after the rain and I will learn to smile again. Seek and I shall find someone who is good and kind all his needs he will explain and teach me how to laugh again. Now dreams have come true through destiny I met you in the balm of love's sweet refrain my heart awakes to sing again.

~ Love Will Find A Way ~

Boris Alperovici had lived on the Isle of Capri since 1927 a few years before Gracie came, they were not well acquainted she did not even know his name. Until her broken recorder he called to repair, then romance was in the air. They were complete opposites and there was a lot of adjusting to do, but in a home built of love the sun comes shining through.

~ Waiting ~

I travel the world by land and by sea, expressing my thoughts in a sweet melody. My heart forever fond and true blissful the hours that I share with you. At the end of the journey I hasten to be, in the arms of my love who is waiting for me. When I return to sing once again, we will meander down memory lane, each fleeting moment so precious to me, my love calls me back to the Isle of Capri.

~ Someone To Love Me ~

During my young life I often longed to be a wife with someone to love me for myself and not for my fame. A husband to treat me as an equal when I took his name. I divorced Archie and lost Monty loneliness I could not bear now I adore my home in Capri because Boris is always there.

~ A Lovely Warm Glow ~

Why am I happy and so gay and why do I feel carefree every single day? The answer is simple and very plain to see, because my dear Boris you mean all the world to me. The sun is shining through and winter is here, casting a radiant glow when you are near. Applause from my audience is heart-warming too, a warmth that intensifies when I'm sailing home to you. True love came a little late but better late than never, in this world and in the next it will endure for ever.

~ Outlook ~

I look for the sun in the morning I look for the moon at night, I look for the first sign of Spring with daffodils blooming so bright. I look for guidance from the Lord above, I look for the best in the man that I love. But I never look for trouble I have better things to do, for those who look for trouble their friends are oh so few.

~ A Corner of Heaven ~

A corner of heaven God created for me in my beautiful home on the Isle of Capri. Canzone del Mare the song of the sea, a haven of peace and tranquility. The trill of the birds in the morning to welcome me when I arise, bouquets of dew sprinkled flowers gay laughter and sunny blue skies. The blessing of a good husband and friends far and near bring a sweet contentment and days full of cheer. Dreams I nurtured in childhood have all come my way, at night by my bedside I kneel and pray. A prayer of thanksgiving for the joys I have known and the assurance I will never walk alone. Boris declared his undying love as he held my hand tenderly, no need to wonder what heaven is like it is here in reality.

~ I'll Give My Heart ~

I was unhappy with Archie and wary of Monty too, he had an eye for other women and there was little I could do. Since I married Boris a deep understanding has grown, to the public I'm still 'Our Gracie' but my heart he will always own.

~ Falling In Love ~

I'm singing like the birds in the trees today feeling so happy and gay, the magic is here to stay because I am in love. The skies are deeper blue today the sun will never go away. I will always feel that golden ray because I am in love. The earth is warm beneath my feet the air fragrant and so sweet I smile at everyone I meet because I am in love.

~ Tell Me True ~

Darling Gracie tell me true will you always love me as you do? Yes indeed Boris have no fear, you are the husband I hold most dear. In marrying Archie I rued the day, and Monty was a gambler throwing money away. You are quite the opposite as sensible as can be, you did not seek another you gave your heart to me.
