~ Royal Engagement ~
Congratulations Prince of Wales and the lady of your choice great
pleasure is expressed by the heart and by the voice. Your progress I
have followed from the moment you were born , I still recall the
jubilance on that crisp November morn. You became a sturdy toddler a
schoolboy and a youth quick to learn the value of honesty and truth. Now
you have reached manhood a milestone in your life you will kneel before
the altar close beside your wife. I wish you health and happiness and I
also wish to say, may the future be as promising as your wedding day.
~ Royal Occasion ~
The British love a wedding especially a royal one, today our thoughts
are centred on the Queen's eldest son. Cathedral bells are ringing
excitement fills the air, a momentous occasion for the Commonwealth to
share. Viewed by millions on the television screen the world acclaimed
Diana as our future Queen. A glass coach conveyed her through the
streets of London Town, her beauty enhanced by the splendour of her
gown. On towards St. Pauls to pledge a dedicated life as the Prince of
Wales chosen wife. Spectators captured a moment of bliss when the Prince
gave his bride a tender kiss. Their environment may differ but at heart
they are the same which proves the old saying - 'What's in a name'.

~ The Emanuels ~
David and Elizabeth Emanuel, I wonder who they are? now their name
is shining brighter than a star. Lady Diana Francis Spencer was engaged
to the Prince of Wales an assignment to make her wedding dress took the
wind out of their sails. Creating elaborate evening wear proved a great
success, never had they experienced such overwhelming happiness.
Inspiration was gained from fairytales such as Cinderella at the ball,
an added advantage as Diana is tall. The drawing board revealed a fitted
bodice with large puff sleeves enhanced with frills and bows, layers of
petticoats under a voluminous skirt touching the tip of her toes. A
magnificent train swept from the waist, a vision of loveliness the
essence of good taste. Hailed as the fairy - tale princess on her
wedding day, she captured the heart of the nation in a very special
way.
~ Prince William ~
Three cheers for Charles and Diana now the Princess of Wales, we share
their joys and sorrows and whatever else prevails. On this special day
they have much to declare, the birth of Prince William a son and heir.
Reporters besieged them with questions, was he dark or was he fair,
would he grow up to be a millionaire. Did he inherit eyes of blue, does
he sleep the whole night through. A baby is the Lord's creation just a
tiny helpless thing, all their needs are the same born a commoner or a
king.
~ Prince Harry ~
'Di's Boy Wonder' and 'Boy oh Boy' headlines to express the nations joy.
A Prince was born in the month of September moments to cherish and long
to remember. Little brother for Prince William to share his fun and
games, Henry Charles Albert David are the choice of names.
~ Princess Alexandra ~
We seldom see her picture or hear her name yet she is entitled to royal
fame. Princess Alexandra sought the quiet life to become a proud mother
and a perfect wife. Mrs Angus Ogilvy she much prefers to be, her style
of dress denotes a neat simplicity. She mixes with the neighbours and
shops at the village store her marriage has brought contentment it will
never become a bore.
~ The Duke of Gloucester ~
God ordained that he was born into royalty, a quiet country gentleman he
much preferred to be. His interest centred mainly on his stately home
beyond that sweet environment he had no desire to roam. Tall and
distinguished with a military air he made a great impression on people
everywhere. Well remembered for his duties overseas as Governor General
of Australian colonies. Declining years brought failing health as he
lived he died in a peaceful manner with the Duchess by his side. An
honourable title and the work he had begun is continued by Prince
Richard his only surviving son. He and his Danish wife await a proud
event the ultimate fulfilment that is heaven sent. The nation is aware
of the fervent hope they foster that it may be a sturdy boy, a future
Duke of Gloucester.
~ Another Mile ~
Once again I pen a verse my face alight with a tender smile, thoughts
centred on our gracious Queen who has reached another mile. Sixty
momentous years from the cradle to the throne dedicated and endearing with a charm all of her own. The humble in their cottages the rich in
castles grand on the birthday of Her Majesty they form a happy band. United in
wishing her another twenty years or more, good health far exceeding wealth and a future safe and sure.
