~ Your Majesty ~

On this eventful day congratulations I convey, your ninety fifth birthday is remembered with pride by loyal subjects far and wide. A happy band of children present bouquets to you leaving a memory to treasure their whole life through. When troubled waters swept the shore and the Prime Minister announced "We are at war" your visits to hospitals and army camps brought good cheer, strengthening moral until the coast was clear. Wherever destiny leads you it adds a touch of gold the same sweet charm as in days of old. During your long and dedicated life many changes you have seen but time will never dim the nations love for the mother of our Queen.

~ The Queen Mother-100 Years ~

The fourth of August must surely be the lovliest day I ever did see, when the bells rang out so merrily to honour your centenary. During your long life many changes you have seen whether good or ill, you faced each challenge with courage your duty to fulfil. Having reached one hundred years you are still looking up, I wish you every blessing handed out in a golden cup.

~ Your Majesty ~

Over these past fifty so much good you have done greatly admired by everyone.  Now you have reached the age of eighty. The prominent and the humble did unite at home and lands across the sea to honour your Golden Jubilee. Monarchs have toppled from the throne and forced to live in exile our Royals soldier on to reach another mile emerging victorious happy and glorious as the National Anthem does convey, I wish you every blessing on your special birthday. Long may you reign to see your Diamond Jubilee.

~ Your Majesty ~

You have reached the age of eighty one
A most dedicated Queen
Gracious, Noble and Serene.
Millions over land and sea
Honoured your Golden Jubilee.
After fifty years on the throne
The nations pride is well known
To retire you have no desire
Duties accepted as a pleasure
Never as a trial
I wish you health and happiness
To reach another mile
Long may you reign to see
Your Diamond Jubilee.

~ YOUR ROYAL HIGHNESS ~

  I remember your wedding day
A delightful scene
When you married Princess Elizabeth
Now our gracious Queen.
The vows you made at the altar kept faithfully
A most loyal consort to her Majesty
Never far from her side,
A quality the nation viewed with pride
Free speech is well known
You are outspoken with a mind of your own
Shaking hands and conversing with the man in the street
Such a friendly personality, a pleasure to meet
On the tenth of June I gave three hearty cheers
Now you have reached the age of eighty six years

Beryl Down
