~ The Silver Jubilee
of
King George V and Queen Mary ~

It is lovely to be at school during a royal occasion, an invitation out required no persuasion. First I skipped lessons and went to the zoo, viewing everything from a tiger to a gnu. In the afternoon there was a tea, the laden trestles were a joy to see. A concert followed in the evening at the local Public Hall, varied entertainment to please one and all. I received a mug presentation as a souvenir, a memento I will treasure year after year. Thank you King George and Queen Mary too for the privilege to share this jubilee with you.

~ Queen Elizabeth 2 ~

Her Ever Gracious Majesty-Elizabeth Our Queen, a rose petal beauty noble and serene. Destiny has chosen her to travel far and wide, performing endless duties with an inborn pride. Assured of deep affection wherever she may roam, distant lands across the sea or on the realms of home The Elizabethan age is proclaimed everywhere  an inspiring age of greatness as the history books declare. In this second era the Commonwealth perseveres to uphold the traditions set in bygone years. Long may she reign Elizabeth our Queen giving all who follow her a strength on which to lean.

Steady of gaze and calm of demeanour, the newly crowned Queen
betrayed none of the emotion that must have filled her head and heart
               on Coronation Day in 1953.

Understanding the problems that beset the world today expressing his views in a militant way. Human atrocities he will never condone speeches convey a mind of his own. Shaking hands and conversing with the man in the street, a magnetic personality and a pleasure to meet.
