~ Music Hall Gems ~

I love the vintage songs all so bright and gay, rendered for our pleasure in the same old fashioned way. A feeling of nostalgia I never can avoid when I hear the lilting gems of saucy Marie Lloyd,. George Robey and Charles Coburn, Harry Lauder, Maidie Scott, each with a personality no one else has got. Vesta Tilley, Ella Shields, Ada Reeve and Florrie Forde had a certain magic the audience adored.  Although they are at rest they are not beyond recall, their memory lives  forever in the heart of the music hall.

~ The Palace of Variety ~

Tommy Trinder, Max Wall, Nellie Wallace and Adelaide Hall. Duggie Wakefield, Rob Wilton, dance band leader Jack Hilton. Claude Dampier, Ted Ray the scatterbrained schoolmaster Will Hay, Dan Leno, George Robey and Clarkson Rose often appeared in womens clothes. Flotsam and Jetsom,  Jewel and Warriss, Sugette Tarri and Lily Morris. Harry Champion, Sandy Powell, Leslie Sarony and Wee Georgie Wood as a small boy who was not very good. Harry Mooney, Nat Jackley, Harry Tate and Sid Field, a mountain of fun they were destined to yield. The Kentucky Minstrels, Norman Evans, Gracie Fields and Dinah Shore, I could mention so many many more. They shone on earth as they do in heaven the stars of the music hall giving endless pleasure and memories to treasure,  God bless 'em all.
